Our first entry on the WPKX page is of the original transmitter installation in the Radio Room @ Provin Mountain, Feeding Hills, MA.

Here's an image of the original logo used at sign on in 1990, this didn't change until almost 10 years later when the logo, below, became the station's brand.

As time marches on things change!  The 97.9 we've all come to know and love is moving south - to Hartford, CT.  The City of license is changing from Enfield to Windsor Locks and the station will be transferred to the Hartford Market. 

The format stays in Springfield, however, and as of October 31st WRNX-FM, Amherst, became KIX100.9.
