Newspaper Article Archives

springfieldradio.com's newspaper archives is a page full of old newspaper articles showing some key moments in the history of radio in and around Springfield, Ma. & the Northeast.

Remember the times ... some of these articles date back to a period of time when TV was in its infancy and radio & newspapers were at the top of the heap. Most times the radio stations had a newspaper affiliation therefore there was quite a bit of cross promotion. There are hundreds of archived articles relating to stations in the Springfield area. This page shows many of them.

Many of these articles were harvested through a website called genealogybank.com ... it's an amazing tool for my other hobby, genealogy.  A quick search for any of the stations in any state will yield amazing results!  If you're a radio history buff, or genealogist, I highly recommend this site as a spectacular resource.

You're free to use it for both commercial or personal use. I only ask that you link back to the author's site in some way. Enjoy :)
